FACULTY/STAFF VEHICLE REGISTRATION

Current decals will expire on August 15, 2011. New decals for 12-month employees should be purchased by August 15, 2011, to avoid a late registration penalty fee. New decals for 9-month employees should be purchased by September 1, 2011, to avoid a late fee.

Each faculty/staff who registers a vehicle will be issued a window decal and a hangtag. Both the decal and the hangtag must be displayed on the vehicle when parked in a faculty/staff-only area. If an additional vehicle is registered, only a window decal will be issued; the correlating decal number of the additional vehicle will be posted on the initial hangtag [an individual is issued only one hangtag – only one registered vehicle is to be parked in a faculty/staff area at one time]. Faculty/staff spouses who drive separate vehicles will need to register their vehicles separately. The first decal purchased per faculty/staff member is charged at full cost while additional decals are charged at a reduced rate to that individual.

External employees will be issued a special hangtag which will permit the same parking privileges as a regular faculty/staff decal and at the same price as a faculty/staff decal, which must be paid for at the time of registration. If an additional vehicle(s) is registered, the vehicle information on the additional vehicle(s) will be posted to the original hangtag.

The decal fee is $75 for the first decal and $15 for a second/additional vehicles. Decal fees are payroll deducted for those employees paid directly by the University. External employees must come to the Parking Services Office in person to order their decals and make direct payment by check or cash to the Parking Services Office.

For faculty/staff members who are in the University payroll system – if you have a child who will be enrolled as a student on our campus this fall, please contact Parking Services by email at parking@olemiss.edu for instructions about how to secure for the child a parking decal at a reduced rate [the same rate as any other additional vehicle for a faculty/staff member]. However, this must be done BEFORE your child independently registers the vehicle.

DISTRIBUTION OF DECAL/HANGTAG:

After completion of the online vehicle registration procedure, your window decal and hangtag will be mailed to you via campus mail. Therefore, it is critical you enter your correct CAMPUS PHYSICAL ADDRESS by the name of your department/office, building name, and office room number. DO NOT enter your residence address.

If you have questions, please contact UPD’s Parking Services Office staff at parking@olemiss.edu or 662-915-7235 between 8am-5pm weekdays.

SPECIAL NOTE:

After you have completed the brief online vehicle registration procedure, DO NOT re-enter the information with the concern that perhaps the information/your order did not go through. By doing so, you will have ordered a second/additional decal and will be charged an administrative fee accordingly – no exceptions. If you are concerned as to whether your decal order was received, contact the Parking Services Office staff for assistance.
